Jagdhatri Puja is observed on the ninth day (navami) during waxing phase of moon in the Bengali Kartik month. Jagadhatri Puja is essentially the worship of Shakti. Goddess Jagadhatri is believed to be a form of Durga. The goddess is carried by the lion, an elephant lies of the feet of the lion.Dated back there is Controversy who started the Jagadhatri pujo…Raja Krishna Chndra of Krishnagar or Indranath Chowdhury. Anyways Both of them are know to popularize this festival one in Krishnagar and other in Chandannagar.
